It Never Stops
944 Magazine ran a three page article on the fall tour including photos by yours truly.
Go check it out!
Well, this is it folks. Last night was our final screening of the tour. We finished it off on a great note in me and Todd’s home town; beautiful, snowy and cold Minneapolis.
It was a great tour. We drove all over this country, met lots of new friends, saw lots of new sights and bought lots of new goofy shirts. We have a lot of great memories and a lot of blurry recollections alike. Sleeping on a couch in an office in Columbia, MO and having van parties on the street. Turning 23, singing karaoke at La Silva Lanes and eating green chile bagels in New Mexico. Trying to catch cats behind the porno shop in Phoenix and watching Mark flirt with cute baristas on Gchat in Tucson. Sleeping in a closet and seeing Rennie break up a drug deal in San Francisco. Fooling everyone in Las Vegas into thinking that we were young millionaires and getting a VIP suite at the Venetian. Drinking 6 cups of coffee a day and hobknobbing with Hollywood’s elite in Los Angeles. And all the thousands of miles inbetween that we spent in the van, staring at the countryside, taking pictures and eating Starbursts.
It was an incredible experience and we would like to thank everyone along the way who helped us out because without you this wouldn’t have happened. So thanks to everyone who let us crash on their floor, took us out to bars, blogged about the tour, and came and saw the films. You guys are all awesome and I will take you out for a Jamba juice next time I’m in your neck of the woods.
This isn’t good bye though. Oh no. We are doing another tour in the spring with four new films. So keep this site bookmarked, check back often, and if you live on the East coast get ready because we’re coming for you!
And we’re bringing this guy.
Worst Prank Ever
Last night after our screening at the Lagoon we went to the after party at Grumpy’s where we sang Karaoke until 2 a.m. Tired and partied out we all got into the van and Todd drove us back to his house.
He pulled off the highway into an apartment complex and parked. I was beyond tired and freezing and was looking forward to nothing more than curling up on the couch and going to bed. As we walked across the parking lot Todd starts laughing and says “This isn’t actually where I live” and gets back into the van. Everyone else started to laugh at me and yelled “WE GOT YOU!!!”
Not sure what just happened to me I got back into the van where we drove an additional 15 minutes to Todd’s real house.
Todd is going to be on NPR’s All Things Considered tonight at 4:50pm Midwest time talking about the tour. He did the interview from the van while it was stuck in the snow in the Iowa highway! Tune in and check it out!
CRISIS IN THE MIDWEST
The dudes in the van had a bit of a mishap this morning. Somebody crashed the van into a foot of snow on the median of the highway in Iowa. I’m not gonna name names, but it was the same person who got the van towed in Los Angeles.
So as of right now the guys are stuck in the van in Iowa waiting for a tow truck to come rescue them. Mark is cold and in his sleeping bag trying to stay warm, Todd is eating Starbursts trying to stay alive until the tow truck comes, and Rennie is listening to Steely Dan on his iPod.
The In Memory of My Father Screening is tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Will the dudes make it here in time??
